Arnis Martinelli (born 1973, Riga) is a Latvian visual artist and composer. He graduated from the Art Academy of Latvia, Department of Graphic Art, where he received his MA in 2000. A member of the Artists’ Union of Latvia since 1998, he develops a body of work that moves between drawing, painting and symbolic compositions inspired by memory, landscape and cultural narratives.
His visual work has been exhibited in Latvia and internationally, including in the Imago Mundi / Luciano Benetton Collection, and is known for its subtle atmosphere and poetic, often introspective imagery.
Alongside his artistic practice, Martinelli is an active contemporary classical composer. Since his early Episodes 1–20 for piano and orchestra (Op. 1, 1999), he has created an extensive catalogue of symphonies, chamber works and large-scale compositions such as Requiem Lettoniae (2011), Symphony No. 3 “SOS” (2023) and recent cycles including Ariadne (2024) and Eurydice (2024). His music is available on major digital platforms.
