Katharina Ziemke (born 1979, Kiel, Germany) lives and works in Berlin. She studied at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris where she earned her diploma in 2004.
Her artistic practice spans painting, works on paper, video, live drawing and performance. She often explores the boundary between figuration and abstraction, uses unconventional supports (rice paper, wax, ink) and engages with themes such as materiality, transformation, climate and the body.
